How can a LEGO set be so poetic?

A month of waiting, a week of building in the evenings (mostly done by Leo), and here we are: I’m a lighthouse keeper now. I can keep it on my shelf.💛

There’s a fire in the little house’s stove and an almost real Fresnel lens on the lighthouse tower. And Moomins perfectly fit into this story.

I’ve been experimenting with linocut and stamp making recently.

It turns out that…

-it’s not easy to be precise while cutting, at least with the tools and materials I have

-the more abstract the stamp, the more fun it is to use

-you need plenty of time and a bit of muscle power to carve what you want :)

-I think, I’ve mixed two different techniques: linocut prints and stamps🙃

Water Trail to Vilsandi Lighthouse. There and Back.

The water trail leading to the main island is about 5 km long, and after that you have to walk 5 km more to get to the lighthouse. But you can also rent bicycles - just take them on the shore and pay at the lighthouse.

You are walking through the sea and swampy islands. The water level and the bottom conditions may vary a lot. In my case, the water was reaching my ribs at its highest point. But sometimes it is deeper there. Dirt and flies were the biggest problem for me. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful experience.

It was funny to see the free horses walking from one island to another. The Soviet-time phone booth, with a phone singing Estonian songs was quite a surprise.

The island itself is very pleasant to visit. The lighthouse is fully renovated and looks cute. There’s also an exhibition of local talents on every one of the eight floors of the lighthouse.

In the summertime, Vilsandi Island is quite lively, but in the winter only five people live there (according to the words of the lighthouse caretaker).

You can also reach the island by a little ferry (actually a motorboat) and take your own bike to the ferry as well, if you wish.

I decorated an electrical cabinet in Helsinki centre in cooperation with @energiahelen (Helen sähköverkko). The preparation process took me a while: buing all the stuff, cutting stencils etc. In the evening before painting I cleaned the electrical cabinet for a few hours and then painted it the whole night from 0 to 5 am. I think it will be covered with the posters and graffity again soon, but this is a normal destiny of every street art.🙂

At sunset, I traditionally went biking and returned just before the sun rose.

When I started to feel cold, I made some tea on one of the lakes I passed by.
